Ruling on wearing jewelry by men or women in Islam. Men's jewelry in Islam.
Ruling for women:
Allah says in the Quran (24:31): And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or children who are not yet aware of private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet in order to make known what they conceal of their ornaments. And O ye Believers! Turn ye all together towards Allah that ye may succeed.
Allah has bestowed in the inherent nature of the woman to adorn herself with aids of beauty, make-up, jewelry, etc.; and there is absolutely no restriction on the believing woman to adorn herself with aids of beauty provided that her beauty is not displayed to non-mahrams; but she is at absolute liberty to adorn herself with as much adornments and ornaments as she wishes in front of her mahrams, especially her husband.
Ruling for men:
Wearing silver rings is permissible but wearing adornments on the wrist, neck, and on the ears, is an imitation of women, as this is something that is only for women. So it is not permissible to wear bracelets, earrings, anklets, or chains.
And Allah knows best!
